Endless Adventure

Winter arrives to the area in mid November and with it comes exceptional snow and outdoor experiences. World famous Downhill Skiing, an undiscovered network of Cross Country skiing trails, North America’s finest Heli Skiing, Snow Shoeing, Snowmobiling and Ice Climbing are just a few of the winter adventures that await. When the winter ends the adventure does not. With the arrival of spring and summer World-Class Golf, Mountain Biking, Hiking, Horseback Riding, White Water Rafting, Parasailing and Canoeing are but a sample of what awaits in our outdoor paradise.

Ski Hill

With a vertical rise of 4,133 feet (1,260 metres), Kicking Horse Mountain Resort has one of the largest vertical ascents of any resort in North America. Just minutes from all resort accommodation, the 8-person Golden Eagle Express Gondola whisks visitors to the mountain peak exposing the scenic alpine bowls, dramatic ridgelines and stunning scenery that make Kicking Horse famous. While on the summit, the Eagle’s Eye Restaurant offers one of the most elevated dining experience in Canada. In the summer months, the ski hill converts to a sightseer’s and mountain biker’s paradise.

Restaurants & Pubs

Kicking Horse Mountain Resort features eight (8) different restaurants, pubs and cafés (seasonally dependent) that are all easily accessible by foot from Glacier Mountaineer Lodge. Enjoy fine dining at Corks or at the Eagle’s Eye Restaurant 7,700 feet above sea level; the Extreme Peaks Grill and Local Hero Pub are the “go to” après ski spots for cold pints and live music; while Sushi Kuma serves up some of the best Sushi this side of the Pacific Ocean.

During the ski season, a shuttle bus runs regularly into the Town of Golden where a wide selection of additional dining establishments for all tastes and budgets await.

Shopping

The Kicking Horse General Store, Selkirk Sports and Canyon Creek Outfitters are located on the Plaza at the base of Glacier Mountaineer Lodge and offer all of your basic grocery, liquor, gift, clothing and equipment needs while at the resort.

The front desk at Glacier Mountaineer Lodge also offers a wide variety of basic sundry items for your stay including some special keepsakes like our famous Stuffed Bear (don’t leave home without one).
